Onsite Infusion Suite is innovative alternatives to expensive care at hospitals and is more convenient for patients; and will be provided at Greater Washington Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center very soon. If you are currently receiving Remicade, Rituxin, Orencia, Actemra, Simponi Aria and Benlysta for management of your disease such as Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Psoriatic Arthritis or vasvulitis or if you are required to receive Boniva, Reclast for management of osteoporosis, you won’t have to go to other infusion facility to get your care.
We will consult with you regarding the best treatment for your particular condition. Newer biologic medications may be used in the treatment of a variety of illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus; these important new therapies have changed the treatment of many immunologic based diseases, and have given new hope to many patients.
Greater Washington Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center has a dedicated staff that will provide best care for the infusion patient. We want your experience to be a positive one and we think you will find our staff and facilities pleasant, friendly and accommodating.
Our Staff are experienced, knowledgeable and work hard to give the best care possible. The rooms are equipped with reclining chairs and you will find the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing.
If you are scheduled for Intravenous Infusion Treatment, you should be present 10-15 minutes before your appointment and may be required to stay 30-60 minutes after the infusion treatment. The time needed for your infusion will depend on the medication. Times will range between one hour for most medications and up to 3 hours for others.
If you need premedication for your infusion, and if this is your first infusion session, please bring a family member or friend with you.
